Regional leading bank leverages Axperien’s expertise for modernization, ensuring a competitive edge in banking

Challenge:

A leading Thai bank and a major player in Southeast Asia, recognized for excellence in corporate and business banking, sought to modernize and enhance efficiency. With nearly 2000 branches in Thailand and 32 international branches, including subsidiaries in Indonesia, Malaysia, and China, the bank aimed to stay competitive and compliant.

Facing challenges in transaction monitoring, End-of-Day report automation, and SharePoint enhancement, the bank turned to Axperien to address these critical areas

Solution:

1. AUTOMATED TRANSACTION MONITORING WITH POWER AUTOMATE RPA

To enhance operational efficiency and accuracy in the Compliance Department, Microsoft Power Automate processes were implemented by Axperien. This involved capturing data from AS400, SAS, and CIS systems, and recording it into specific Excel templates across multiple pages.

The solution employed a hybrid approach, minimizing human intervention during office hours by utilizing Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Automation tasks were initiated and concluded when users were at their computers, allowing for manual triggering at their discretion. This approach maintained a balance between automation and human expertise, enabling necessary interaction or decision-making at specific steps.

A tailored Microsoft Power Automate setup was implemented to meet the unique requirements of the Compliance Department. This setup seamlessly captured and transferred data from AS400, SAS, and CIS systems into designated Excel templates. The automation was designed to handle unattended tasks efficiently while accommodating scenarios where human intervention was crucial. Striking a balance between automated data processing and human oversight ensured optimal accuracy, speed, and compliance in all operations.

2. REPORT DISTRIBUTION OF END OF DAY PROCESS WITH POWER AUTOMATE RPA

The IT/EDP Department focuses on optimizing operational processes, scheduling RPA EOD (end-of-day) report assessments during regular working hours (10 am to 5 pm). To ensure successful automation of EOD report exporting, dedicated personnel collaborated with Axperien to align the solution with EOD task nuances.

The solution involved integrating RPA seamlessly into the EOD reports generation process using Microsoft Power Automate. This collaborative approach between the Bank and Axperien resulted in efficient, accurate, and reliable automation, laying the foundation for future productivity and efficiency improvements.

3. MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT TECH REFRESH

The IT/EDP Department aimed to modernize the SharePoint system, transitioning from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online for enhanced functionality and improved user experience. This involved recreating workflows, implementing advanced report generation, and revitalizing the intranet landing page.

Thorough preparations ensured a smooth migration, transferring documents, metadata, profiles, groups, workflows, and backend settings. Power Automate was employed to recreate workflows and forms, leveraging SharePoint Online’s features. The migration maintained data integrity, and the intranet landing page underwent a comprehensive modernization for an enhanced look and feel.

The final solution included a complete overhaul of SharePoint Online, seamlessly migrating data, recreating workflows, and improving productivity. User profiles, groups, and configurations were smoothly transitioned, and enhanced report generation capabilities provided advanced data analysis. The modernized intranet landing page featured an attractive design and intuitive navigation, offering an upgraded, efficient, and user-friendly platform aligned with organizational goals.

Result:

Through the implementation of RPA and Microsoft SharePoint, the bank successfully tackled operational challenges, achieving a transformative solution that seamlessly automated processes and enhanced productivity. The advanced report generation functions further provide valuable insights through advanced data analysis.
